![]() At £2.50 per square meter applying paving sealant to paving is one of DJI Revive’s more expensive service. However when it comes to protecting the surface and enhancing the colour of your paving it pays not to scrimp on the quality of the sealant used, this is why DJI Revive only used high quality acrylic paving sealant.
Paving sealant is used to protect paving from stains, stabilise jointing sand, inhibit weed growth and enhance the colour of all types of paving.
Using a spare concrete block paving brick and a small amount of acrylic paving sealant that was spare from a job, I set up a small experiment to show the benefits of paving sealant. The photos above show one side of the block that has been treated with paving sealant (right) and the other side has not (left).
Dirty motor oil taken from the company van was then placed on the untreated side of the block paving.
Then using only water the block paving is cleaned.
You can see from the photo below that the block paving has absorbed the oil which has created an unsightly stain. This would be very difficult to remove, and if this was a large oil spill, it would be easier to replace the damaged blocks than clean them.
Dirty motor oil is then placed on the side of the block paving that has been sealed.
Once again using only water the block paving is cleaned.
Because paving sealant has formed a protective skin over the block paving it has prevented the oil from penetrating the surface of the block which has prevented the dirty oil from causing any staining.
Acrylic based paving sealants can enhance the colour of all types of paving. Below is an example of how the sealant can improve the colour of natural Indian sand stone.
